Hefei University of Technology

Hefei University of Technology (HFUT), located in Hefei, the capital city of Anhui Province, is a national key university administrated directly by the Ministry of Education of China. Founded in 1945, HFUT has a long history of providing high-quality education and conducting cutting-edge research in various fields. HFUT is one of the universities of Project 211 and Program 985 innovation platform in China, and also one of universities included in the list of the “Double First Class” plan, the country’s construction plan of world-class universities and first-class disciplines.

HFUT is a comprehensive university mainly focusing on engineering. Eleven disciplines of the university (Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Computer Science, Agricultural Science, Earth Sciences, Environment/Ecology, Social Sciences (General), Biology & Biochemistry, Physics and Plant & Animal Science) have entered the top 1% in the ESI global rankings, and its engineering science disciplines rank top 1‰.

HFUT is home to 33,200 undergraduate students and 16,200 graduate students. The university is dedicated to educating its students to become innovative engineering talents with professional proficiency, positive working attitude and entrepreneurship, with the spirit best manifested in the university motto “pursuing virtue and knowledge, seeking truth and innovation”.

HFUT offers 20 first-level disciplines with authorization to confer doctoral degrees, 38 first-level disciplines for master programs, and 84 undergraduate majors. The university boasts a high-level faculty team consisting of academician of China Academy of Engineering, academician of the Chinese Academy of Science, accredited professors, scholars granted with funds from the National Outstanding Youth Science Foundation, winners of the national awards for top teachers and etc.

HFUT is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including modern classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, and advanced research centers. The university also offers a wide range of extracurricular activities and student organizations, providing students with opportunities to develop their leadership skills and pursue their interests outside of the classroom.
